Members of the Presidency welcomed Mr. Ivon Jastrab, the Czech ambassador in Belgrade.

Members of the Presidency (Fatmir Dejdiu, Xhavit Haliti, Naim Maloku, Gazmend Muhaxheri, Xhezair Murat, as well as a deputy from Serbian List, Oliver Ivanoviq) have welcomed today in a common meeting Mr. Ivon Jastrab, the Czech ambassador in Belgrade, and have discussed developments in Kosovo, about the work of the democratic institutions (especially of the Assembly) establishing freedom of movement for citizens and the return of displaced as well as for economic progress of the country. Initially the deputy Fatmir Sejdiu talked about the structure of the Assembly of Kosovo, emphasizing the political and ethnic diversity represented by seventeen entities. He also went on to mention that deputies from the Serbian List will join the work of the Assembly of Kosovo. The Czech ambassador in Belgrade, Ivon Jastrab, expressed his pleasure at meeting with representatives of different political and ethnic subjects, all together seated and interested in a common life in Kosovo. He emphasized that Kosovo is entering the final phase of negotiations regarding status resolution and the Czech Republic, his state and a member of the European Union, is very interested in positive developments in Kosovo and the fulfillment of standards as a necessary condition that determines status resolution. The Czech diplomat said that the final result of negotiations is unknown but he added that the Czech Republic will support any resolution for the status of Kosovo, approved by the interested parties. Ivon Jastrab went on to mention the fact that the people of former Czechoslovakia were peacefully separated, and they still found the common road on European integration and the Czech and Slovak militaries participate in one common battalion of KFOR in Kosovo, whose activity was thanked by the members of the Presidency of Kosovo who participated in this meeting.
